On July 19, join GLI and presenting sponsor, Government Strategies, at our next Issues & Influencers event on the proliferation of urban agriculture innovation in West Louisville. We will convene for breakfast at Louisville’s own Chef Space, hear a special presentation, and host a panel discussion regarding the economic impact of urban agriculture projects.

Central in these developments is the West Louisville FoodPort, a transformative urban reinvestment project that will occupy a 24-acre campus in West Louisville. The FoodPort will gather local food-related businesses in one place – urban-farm companies, distributors, processors and retailers that will grow food and buy food from regional farmers and sell it to local businesses and consumers, providing much-needed job, public space, educational programming, and other amenities in neighborhoods that deserve more investment. Already cited as a national model for 21st agriculture, the FoodPort combines economic development and community development, increasing access to fresh food and investment in West Louisville in a way that serves the people who already live there.
